It's "trickle down" electronics. They may not offer the same sophisticated sound-shaping and control options, but MTX's Road Thunder amps incorporate many design features originally developed for the celebrated Thunder amps.
You get a MOSFET power supply, Intelligent Surface Mount Technology, and low-noise Pure N-Channel Design circuitry — all primed to deliver rumblin' MTX performance from your speakers and subs. You also get an amp with more usable power, greater sonic accuracy, and extended reliability at a wallet-friendly price.
The RT202 (37.5 watts RMS x 2) is perfect for driving a pair of coaxial speakers or a component set. Bridged to mono operation, it'll also power a subwoofer with a solid 150 watts. You can adjust the amp's output with the selectable high-/low-pass filter (18 dB per octave at 85 Hz), or use the preamp outputs to send a clean signal to another amp. Smart-Engage™ turns on the amplifier when it senses a signal at the speaker-level inputs — a convenient feature when you're hooking up to a factory radio.
