Eighteen Sound 12W500

The Eighteen Sound 12W500 is a 12-inch low frequency speaker with a ferrite magnet. It was created to meet the need for a 12 ″ speaker that combines excellent linearity with good sensitivity and power management. It mainly sees its use in bass-reflex applications in furniture up to 50 liters. Generally it can be used in two-way systems, combined with a 1 inch compression driver .

The paper cone has a smooth and curvilinear profile profile that eliminates resonances within the working frequency range. In addition, the cone is supported by a rigid double-wave suspension in treated canvas, designed to control the excursion while maintaining the linearity of the movement.

The coil

The Eighteen Sound 12W500 uses ISV - Interleaved Sandwich Voice Coil construction technology , in which the high-strength fiberglass trainer supports the windings on both surfaces. As a result a very well balanced mass coil is obtained. All this leads to an extremely linear motor assembly with a reduced tendency for eccentric behavior when driven by high current. The cooling of the voice coil is guaranteed by the openings between the rear of the basket and the front plate of the magnet, allowing the exhausted air to be channeled away from the air gap and dissipated by the basket frame.
